For the past few weeks my blog has been like a graceful swan paddling through the water. Things have seemed quite still, but there has been a lot of activity below the surface.
I have been planning, organizing, even scheming! (Well, maybe not scheming.) In the near future look forward to more frequent posts covering the following topics:
• Updates about the book proposal – Along with general info about where I am in the process, I will start posting selections of my draft and summaries of my argument. I want you to be able to read the book with me as I'm writing it.
• Other writings on theology and culture/politics – I work in liminal spaces, which means I deal with places where concepts meet: You know there is a difference between two things, but you cannot tell exactly where one ends and the other begins. Thus I will be posting on topics like gnosticism and politics or the desert fathers and shopping malls.
• Book and article reviews – As I read things, I will summarize and respond to them.
• New series – I am planning several of them. The first is tentatively called, "Nazbeen Confessions." Through my own experiences with the Church of the Nazarene and my conversion to Orthodoxy, it explores the history and theology of the holiness movement and compares it to the idea of theosis.
• Miscellaneous topics – This one is self-explanatory.
The point is, in the very near future, expect a more robust and active blog. Blog two-point-oh!
